A Phoenix Babymoon – In Love with Aleja and Blake
Ahhh, young love.
Remember that line in “When Harry Met Sally”? The one that goes: “When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
That’s the love I saw in Aleja and Blake. The kind that can tune out the rest of the world. Fun, carefree and pure. And up-for-anything — as long as it was together.
Aleja is a model and influencer @alittlealeja. Like me, she’s based in Dallas. I had been following her on Instagram and when she announced her pregnancy, I was thrilled that she was interested in a Phoenix Babymoon shoot.
She and her husband chose Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa in Phoenix for their five-star getaway. The resort lived up to its name with peaceful little sanctuaries everywhere. Camelback Mountain and Paradise Valley framed the breathtaking backdrop. About an hour away Canyon Lake was our first location. When I suggested that Aleja walk in the lake for a shot, she didn’t hesitate. Her curls bouncing as playfully as her big personality.
Phoenix has no shortage of outdoor views (or cacti!) for a Babymoon shoot. Our next stop was Papago Park in the middle of the city. It’s considered one of the most scenic areas in Phoenix, with 1,500 acres of trails and activities. Zigzagging through the desert park, we found botanical gardens, a zoo, even an amphitheater to capture our couple’s desert experience.
We wrapped up their babymoon portrait experience by strolling on the hotel’s grounds, capturing the beauty of the resort.
An update: Aleja and Blake welcomed their sweet little one into their lives late last year and he’s getting so big! The next chapter of their love story.
