Especially with a glam maternity photo shoot, many clients expect “the best”. They see gorgeous images online and want something similar. And there are few photographers in Dallas that offer the kind of quality CLJ Photography offers. So…what defines “quality” photography?

Many things go into this. Like a TON. But, I want to focus on one aspect of better imagery.

Once, early in my career, my husband and I were looking at a set of pictures. I asked, “what is this missing from my images?” He looked and looked (he’s quite an artist himself) and he couldn’t pin point anything that stuck out “wrong”. What we were comparing was a portrait that I had taken with my own camera and a second image taken with a better, borrowed camera.

What I couldn’t define (and what he couldn’t see) was a “depth”. This was crisper edges, better contrast, and images that “felt” deeper and rich. Those of you who have done your research on this might already know the answer to what was missing. A full frame camera – a professional (expensive!) level camera added to a higher end lens.

There are many things that add to the quality of an image. Experience is always on top but your gear is right there. Full frame cameras complimented by high quality lenses come, with the benefit of experienced professional, create the masterpiece.

What I saw was that quality.
